Submit an Article to the Small Town Project
Do you have an idea for an article/post for this site? Run the idea by me first or throw caution to the wind and write the whole piece. Submit it below. It needs to be consistent with the general thrust of the site. If I feel it fits the bill and meets the needs of the site, I’ll post it. I reserve the right to make minor edits.
As the author of a guest article, you get special treatment! For the first week your article is up, there will be a special link to it in the sidebar of the home page. That way, if other entries appear above it during that time, making it less visible to the casual surfer, there will be another reminder of it calling their attention to it. Your article will remain on the site indefinitely, and go into the archives here, unless we work out some other agreement. But as the author and copyright holder you are of course free to do with it whatever else you like.
To get the gears turning, here are some ideas for article topics: (a) Description of some personal experience with a rapidly or excessively growing community. (b) Personal excperience with something concerning sustainable development, whether economic or other. (c) Personal experience in a community with some innovative form of growth control. (Boulder, Portland… anyone here from Bolinas? ;)) (d) Ideas for sustainable development projects which might make sense in Lisbon or MV, or how certain projects would make more sense in one community than the other. (e) Any relevant topic requiring research. If it hasn’t been covered here already, such an article would be most welcome as it would save me the time required to research it. Feel free to contact me for ideas as there are several I simply haven’t had the time to research yet.
So send ‘em in! Don’t be shy; there’s no slush pile and I could use a day off.
